Jobs in engineering will be created in Middlesbrough after a mechanical firm unveiled expansion plans, the Evening Gazette has reported.
Up to 21 new engineering jobs will be generated by Intelect UK after it announced it would invest £3 million in the investment of new premises near its existing base at at Riverside Park Industrial Estate.
Francis Cormican, one of the founders of Intelect, told the Evening Gazette: "The idea of moving to the new premises is to take us on to the next tier and help us expand even further."
Intelect UK gained a Selected Finance for Industry grant worth £130,000 from One NorthEast in order to fund the expansion initiative.
Speaking to the Evening Gazette, Ken Samson business finance manager at One NorthEast, said: "All three firms under the Intelect banner are excellent examples of rapidly growing businesses in the region."
Intelect UK was established in 1997 and expanded its brand to include Intelect Mechanical in 2005.
