Monday 4th August 2008 Jobs in finance - Work from home with jobs in finance

An increasing number of employees with jobs in finance are choosing to work from home in virtual offices, according to a risk management analyst.
Research by Choregus revealed that 40 per cent of employees with financial jobs in the banking and finance industry work from virtual offices largely due to a rise in the use of emails and computer technology to communicate with clients.
Ian Fraser, marketing manager at the Institute of Risk Management, said: "The increasing use of emails, mobile phones and other such technology enabling people to work from anywhere, means virtual offices are increasingly seen as an acceptable (even normal) way of doing business."
Having employees who work from home in jobs in finance will mean that businesses reduce the amount of damage they incur if a disaster hits their head office, according to Mr Fraser.
"Virtual offices can limit the impact of a disaster as locations can be spread out, but many types of disaster can affect the parts of a virtual office as well," he added.
According to research by Choregus, seven per cent of people with jobs in IT work from home thanks to the use of virtual offices.
