Engineering jobs - Engineering jobs available in the north-east
 New jobs in engineering will be created in Teeside after an engineering firm announced expansion plans, the Journal has reported.
Up to 70 jobs in engineering have been made available by engineering company Aker Solutions at its base at the Surtees Business Park in the coming months in a bid to meet increased customer demand for its products and services.
Giles Gillett, technical director of Aker Solutions, told the Journal: "We are looking for new staff as we continue to grow our business and increase turnover. We need people to work across our key markets. Nuclear, metals and energy are big growth areas for us."
Aker Solutions has pledged to offer its new employees continuous training in their new jobs in engineering.
"It's not just about recruitment. It's also about staff retention, development and training," Mr Gillett told the newspaper.
Aker Solutions already employs 700 people in jobs in engineering in Stockton near Middlesbrough.
