Friday 15th August 2008 Engineering jobs - Office park redevelopment will create engineering jobs

Hundreds of jobs in engineering will be generated in Scotland by the transformation of an industrial site, the Glasgow Evening Times has reported. A site in Lanarkshire, previously occupied by picture tube maker Chunghwa, will be redeveloped into a £330 million industrial site and office estate which will be home to hundreds of new jobs in engineering. TRAC International will be the first firm to move into the new industrial site, Centralpoint Elite Logistics Park, and will create 100 new jobs in engineering. Rab Watt, director of TRAC, told the Glasgow Evening Times: "This is an excellent move. The new facility is in an ideal location, with excellent transport links to the rest of the UK." Jobs in retail and administration jobs will be generated when the neighbouring Maxim Office Park is completed in two years time. It is predicted that around 5,000 jobs will be made available when both Centralpoint Elite Logistics Park and Maxim Office Park are ready for business.
