Monday 18th August 2008 Retail jobs - Supermarket giant generates retail jobs

Hundreds of retail jobs have been created across England after Tesco opened new stores, it has been reported.
Almost 200 new retail jobs have been made available in Hampshire, according to Bramley Today, while the Bradford Telegraph and Argus has reported that six jobs in retail have been opened up by a new Tesco Express store and petrol station in Bradford.
Around 180 jobs in retail will be created by the new Tesco store in Bramley Shopping Centre which has replaced a Somerfield supermarket and is part of a £1 million regeneration of the retail complex.
Store manager Michael Carr told Bramley Today: "We are all really excited and cannot wait for opening day. My staff and I are looking forward to welcoming our customers and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community."
Tesco took over German company Metro AG this year to become the world's third largest retailer, according to reports.
