Wednesday 20th August 2008 Sales jobs - Sales jobs come to Leeds

Hundreds of jobs in sales will be made available in Leeds when an entertainment giant opens a call centre in the city, the Yorkshire Evening Post has reported. Up to 350 sales jobs are set to be created by Sky when it opens a new call centre in City Walk in order to meet increased demand from customers for its services and products. Dave Rumble, Sky's sales director, told the Evening Post: "Around one in three UK households already have Sky and more customers are choosing us for a wider range of services than ever before." According to Mr Rumble, the majority of the new sales jobs will be full time while new positions will include sales advisors and team leaders. Around 40 of the sales jobs will be for call centre management roles and it is advisable for applicants to have previous experience in sales, claims Mr Rumble. "Above all, we're looking for applicants who can demonstrate strong communication skills and real enthusiasm for our products," he told the newspaper. Sky already has a base in Yorkshire as it employs about 250 people in Harrogate at Sky Bet and Football365.com.
