Thursday 28th August 2008 Retail Jobs - Retail jobs come to Crewe

New jobs in retail will be made available in Crewe after a DIY giant announced it would open a store, the Crewe Chronicle has reported.
Up to 50 jobs in retail are expected to be created when Homebase opens a new superstore in Old Mill Road in Sandbach next month as part of a national expansion scheme.
Peter King, Homebase divisional general manager, told the Chronicle: "It is scheduled to open in the second half of September and will create both full and part-time jobs."
According to local politicians, the new jobs in retail are a welcome boost to the local employment market during the current economic climate.
Pauline Minshull, Sandbach Town Council chairman, told the newspaper: "At a time when we are all counting the pennies it is good to see Sandbach is attracting new trade."
Homebase employs thousands of people in retail jobs in 320 stores across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
