Friday 29th August 2008 Retail jobs - Supermarket giant creates more retail jobs

More new jobs in retail will be created by Tesco when it opens a new store in South Wales, the Swansea Evening Post has reported. The supermarket giant will make up to 30 jobs in retail available to job seekers when the doors open at its new express store in Neath later this year as part of a national expansion initiative. A Tesco spokeswoman told the Evening Post: "We are delighted to confirm that we have agreed a lease to open a new Tesco Express store in a new unit on Dwr y felin Road in Neath. Tesco expects the new express store will help regenerate the local economy and provide more retail jobs for the area. "In our experience, we have found that Tesco Express encourages more people to shop locally without having to drive to large out-of-town supermarkets, which can strengthen existing local centres and generate investment," the spokeswomen told the newspaper. Tesco took over German company Metro AG this year to become the world's third largest retailer, according to reports. Click here for retail jobs
