Wednesday 17th September 2008 Administration jobs - HSBC brings administration jobs to York

HSBC, Britain's biggest bank, will create hundreds of administration jobs in York if it opens a major office in the city, the York Press has reported. Up to 200 jobs in administration could be made available after the bank announced it was examining a site at Monks Cross for a major building to handle credit and debit card data. A spokesman for the bank said HSBC favoured the site because there are good public transport links and amenities for its employees in administration jobs. "The centre will support transactional banking, for example credit and debit card payments by HSBC customers," he told the York Press. Politicians noted the local job market will receive a further boost as construction jobs will be created during the building of the office. York council leader Andrew Waller told the Press: "These will be high quality jobs and there will be building jobs in the short term during the construction of the centre." HSBC said it would take several months before council officials approve the planning application for the site. Click here for administration jobs
