Thursday 18th September 2008 Administration jobs - Bank creates more administration jobs

HSBC has announced it will generate new administration jobs by relocating one of its branches, the Isle of Man Today has reported. Around 18 new administration jobs will be created after HSBC, Britain's biggest bank, announced it would move a branch from Jersey to Douglas on the Isle of Man. Speaking to the newspaper, HSBC area manager Mike Hennessy, said: "We are relocating some of the functions from our international banking arm in terms of ex-patriot personal banking and so the decision was made to move 18 jobs from Jersey to the Isle of Man." Mr Hennessy said the decision to move the administration jobs was partly down to the availability of people with the right skills for the positions, which are concerned with keeping customers up to date with the bank's various services. HSBC will create up to 200 jobs in administration in York if it is successful in opening a major office in the city, the York Press has recently reported.
