Monday 6th October 2008 Sales jobs - Good management needed for call centre sales jobs

In a good call centre there must be a strong management team that can inspire those working in jobs in sales, according to John Senior, Capita/Dixons programme support director. Capita was recently awarded the title of European call centre of the year and Mr Senior believes this is because those in the sales jobs were motivated by good management. "It is about the people. You have to have a good, strong management team and that can obviously resonate through the whole of the staff base," he said. Mr Senior claims that contact centre agents are the most important employees in a call centre as they are the ones who deal with customers. "The contact centre agents our main asset. They are the guys who answer the phone and are in contact with the customers," he added. According to Market and Business Development, in 2007, the number of call centres in the UK increased by three per cent to 6,246, representing growth of 17 per cent compared with 2003.
