Hundreds of jobs in finance will be created in Liverpool in the coming months after Barclays announced a recruitment drive, according to reports. The banking giant is set to generate up to 240 finance jobs in the city by recruiting 24 account consultants every month for the next ten months at its Wavertree Technology Park base. Barclays' head of premium segments Alan Longmuir, told LDP Business: "This is a fantastic further investment into the Merseyside economy and provides great confidence in our position as a key and progressive employer in the region." The new full and part-time finance jobs will be added to the thousands of people already employed at the site. "We want people who can introduce new financial solutions to our customers that help them to make and save them money and build long-term customer relationships," Mr Longmuir told the publication. The government has recently unveiled a £400 billion rescue package to assist Britain's banks during the current economic climate. Click here for financial jobs
