Friday 10th October 2008 Retail jobs - Massive mall creates retail jobs

Hundreds of new jobs in retail will be created in Scotland following the completion of a massive extension to a shopping centre. Work has finished on Elements Square, the multi-million pound extension to the Almondvale Shopping Centre in West Lothian and new retail jobs will be available once the complex opens next Thursday. Elements Square and Almondvale Shopping Centre will now collectively be known as The Centre. The new extension will have retail space of up to one million square feet and will also include leisure space and extensive food outlets. Jennifer Bruce, marketing manager of The Centre, said: "I'm confident that our bright and spacious new shopping centre will be enjoyed not only by the people of Livingston and West Lothian, but will also attract shoppers from further afield." Jobs in retail will be available in the 155 shops that will open next week and the new complex is predicted to create more than 1,500 jobs in total for the area. Elements Square cost £130 million to complete and makes the Centre one of the biggest shopping centres in Scotland. Click here for retail jobs
