Thursday 27th November 2008 Environmental law 'is a promising career path'

Job seekers may want to consider a career in environmental law as the sector is surviving the current economic climate, according to Stevens & Bolton LLP.
Catherine Davey, a partner at the firm, said that jobs in environmental law are increasingly in demand as there continues to be a lot of work in the area due to a plethora of new legislation.
"With the changes in legislation, we're finding that it is increasingly impacting clients businesses at all sorts of levels and in ways that perhaps could not have been anticipated five years ago," she said.
Ms Davey went on to say the legal profession is coping relatively well with the credit crunch and that jobs in employment law are available as people are needed to deal with redundancies.
"On one level you could say that it depends where the firm is working and what sort of areas of law it's working in but certainly there are areas of law that are faring better than others at the moment," she said.
Stevens & Bolton LLP is located in Guildford and offers services to clients across the UK and abroad.
