Monday 1st December 2008 IT jobs - Workers 'will do anything to keep jobs'

An IT company has found that up to a third of employees asked would be willing to work 80 hours a week, if it meant they could keep their jobs.
Cyber-Ark also found that 25 per cent of the 600 workers questioned would be prepared to take a salary cut.
However, it seems that employees are not taking any chances, with more than a third also admitting they would download 'useful information' if they felt their job was at risk.
These include documents such as customer and contact databases, plans and proposals, product information, and access or password codes which could potentially be used as bargaining tools.
Adam Bosnian, vice president of products, strategy and sales at the firm said: "Employers have a right to expect loyalty from their workforce, however this works both ways and in these dark days, everyone is jittery especially with lay offs at the top of most corporate agendas - the instinct is to look out for number one.
"It would be unthinkable to leave money on a desk, an obvious temptation to anyone passing, instead it is always safely locked away and its time sensitive information is given the same consideration."
