Monday 5th January 2009 Sales jobs - Sales jobs 'are vital' during the credit crunch

Businesses are being advised about the importance of sales jobs during the current economic climate by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
John Dunsmure, managing director of the BCC, said that businesses should be focusing on customer service during the recession in order to boost profits and this can be done by recruiting skilled employees for sales jobs.
"Customer service, if you don't look after your customers in this current economic climate, you really will struggle," he said.
Mr Dunsmure went on to say that firms should look at how employees in sales jobs can help a business during the recession instead of choosing to make redundancies.
"This is not the time cut back on your sales and marketing, but to really focus on it," he added.
Mr Dunsmure advises more firms to make a business plan to see whether they are in a good position during the credit crunch and has said businesses should not be afraid to diversify in order to survive.
Research for Dell, carried out by Tickbox.net/Opinion Matters, found that 44 per cent of people go to the internet for business advice.
