Thursday 22nd January 2009 Engineering jobs - Yorkshire firm plans to expand following merger

The engineering jobs sector in the north of England has been given a much-needed boost with the news that Rotherham-based NECTA has successfully merged with a larger rival.
Under the new agreement, the South Yorkshire firm will become a part of Connaught Compliance, with its electrical inspection services to be brought into the fold of the larger company, which specialises in providing health and safety and risk management services.,
Now renamed Connaught Compliance Electrical Services, the new-look company has held on to its management team, with managing director Mark Robins indicating that expansion is on the cards as the merger allows it to defy the economic crisis, the South Yorkshire Star has reported.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that a number of new construction jobs are to be created in nearby Derby after a local building firm secured new contracts worth alomsot £2 million in value, including a deal to deliver brickwork for the new stadium of Leicester Tigers rugby club.
