Wednesday 28th January 2009 Construction jobs - Heathrow redevelopment will create jobs

Construction jobs will be available in the London area after a firm procured a contract to provide its services on the Heathrow East building project.
Balfour Beatty will assist BAA in delivering its £1.5 billion scheme, which will be worth around £750 million to the construction group.
The agreement will see the contractor realign the taxiways and provide new aircraft stands in the areas to the east of Terminals 1 and 2 of the UK's largest airport.
Ian Tyler, Balfour Beatty chief executive, announced his "delight" at being chosen for the development.
He said: "Our track record in delivering capital projects for BAA, including the rail systems element of Terminal 5, along with the strong business relationship forged between us has been instrumental in completing this important agreement."
Earlier this month, Balfour Beatty disclosed that its order book increased by the £12.1 billion that it had originally reported half way through 2008.
