Description Our client, a household name financial services organisation who occupies leading positions in it main markets, wishes to appoint a Finance Project Manager to take ownership for a new activity based management system created to manage cost/expenses across the UK Group. This is a newly created role, and the successful candidate will take ownership of process and set up change control processes in line with best practice and will maintain tough controls that are robust and effective. Essentially this is a process management role at Group Finance level.

Role Overview:

- Manage and develop UK and Ireland Activity Based Management model and supporting processes in order to meet business objectives
- Help identify and implement the strategy for ABM development, including relationship with software supplier
- Identify solutions/ideas that maximise value and effectiveness of ABM and associated models within the context of the Group

Responsibilities include:

- Ensuring that appropriate control and management disciplines are used to maintain and develop the model
- Mobilise and establish a virtual team, including Operating Company and Shared Service representatives ensuring adequate resourcing
- Develop and lead ABM user group
- Initiate, create and delivery business cases for ABM developments
- Management of supplier relations for technical partners, software vendors and contract agencies
- Maintain effective change control for the ABM models across the UK and Ireland Group
- Responsible for championing the change from traditional expense reporting to value add multi-dimensional reporting
- Work with Finance business Partner and Shared Service teams to ascertain detailed business unit ABM requirements and ensure that agreed deliveries are reported via the regular programme steering group meetings
- Responsible for shaping virtual team, including building, managing, developing and motivating
- Responsible for maintaining effective quality control over the ABM model
- Responsible for reporting and presenting on the status of ABM and development plans to the senior stakeholders
- Responsible for chairing user group and championing governance processes

Candidate Profile:

- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Finance or Project Management qualification
- Strong project management experience (within Finance) and experience of delivering end to end solutions
- Accounting knowledge (not necessarily a qualified accountant)
- Excellent practical change control experience
- Strong stakeholder Management experience
- Proven decision making ability
- Able to contribute at a strategic level
- Possesses the ability to recognise opportunities across a broad front and take action to exploit these to measurable effect
