Description		This is an amazing opportunity to join one of the worlds leading Asset Management companies based in the City of London. This is a chance for a big 4 trained individual with banking experience to join a bank that is forever growing and you can progress with it. This is for an ambitious person who has an audit mind but an accounting brain. Your role will be to assist the manager of the Statutory and Tax Accounting team in preparation and filing of UK statutory accounts, ensuring robust financial controls over legal entities books and records. and compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies (CAP) and GAAP. In addition, to ensure that corporation tax provisions are accurately recorded in the books and that VAT returns are completed accurately and filed on time. Legal entity controller in charge of preparation of legal entity statutory accounts Preparation of year end audit files for group legal entities/units Review and improvements to annual audit process Liaising with external auditors and Lines of Business finance (LOB) during year end and interim audit process and successfully concluding the audit of legal entities. Periodic review of effectiveness of financial controls over books and records of legal entities. Preparation of legal entity quarterly financial packs for presentation to the Board and or filing with regulatory bodies. Analysis of the impact of new accounting standards/corporate accounting policies on legal entity accounts and communication of this to the wider Finance department Accounting for differences between UK and US GAAP and associated reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations Review of reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts, ensuring that the underlying accounting is in line with relevant GAAP and Corporate Accounting policies Month end close Review of month end journals for intangible assets, goodwill etc Review of equity income roll-up process Taxation/VAT Review of preparation of VAT returns and related accounting Review of corporation tax provisions of UK entities Skills/Knowledge Qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE including significant accounts preparation experience outside of audit firms Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP Big 4 trained Exposure to US GAAP/IFRS desirable but not essential Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation and to explain complex accounting issues Significant experience of the audit process in larger companies
