My client is a leading financial institution with a global presence, they have an opportunity Corporate Accounting Policy Manager to join them for this newly created vacancy. The successful candidate will be directly, through their financial controllership organisation, responsible for significant accounting and reporting requirements related to SEC/shareholder/regulatory reporting and significant operational accounting requirements.
• Initiate new projects in response to new accounting and reporting requirements and ensure that decisions are reached regarding new requirements well before the time of implementation.
• Responsible for the monthly corporate consolidation of financial results and the automated/manual processes required to complete the consolidation.
• Act as the corporate expert on accounting for stock based compensation and asset quality accounting.
• Consults with line-of-business staff on all issues regarding the reporting of activity in the financial statements and has sign-off responsibilities for opening/closing general ledger accounts. This is accomplished through a process of financial research, data gathering, planning, measurement, review and analysis.
• Responsible for the oversight of certain financial accounting and reconciliation functions.


Qualifications and expertise:
• The qualified candidate will have a B.A. /B.S. with Accounting concentration or equivalent experience.
• C.P.A. or equivalent experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP.
• Extensive progressive accounting and financial analysis experience including management experience.
• In-depth broad-based knowledge of advanced financial accounting and reporting concepts and processes and highly-specialised knowledge of and experience in specific accounting and external reporting requirements; excellent communication (verbal, written), presentation and consultative skills.
• Strong business and strategic perspective/focus is essential.
