An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Assistant to join this well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in the Newcastle area.

The principal duties of the role will be to develop of skills and knowledge in Tax Compliance to eventually provide a fee-paying service to unincorporated businesses, and individuals by assisting in preparing tax returns.
The successful applicant will be expected to learn and to be a confident user of spreadsheets and of IRIS Software. They will also be expected to answer telephone queries and draft basic correspondence
In dealing with the role and responsibilities, it will be required to work in accordance with the firm’s procedures and policies, relevant statutory procedures and current best practice guidelines.

With the appropriate training it will be expected that within six months you will be able to perform the duties and responsibilities to include:
• Maintain direct responsibility for your own portfolio of personal tax clients in providing a comprehensive compliance service.
• Liaise with clients, 3rd parties and other departments to collate tax return and P11D information and to provide a Personal Tax and P11D compliance services to clients.
• Completion and submission to HMRC of all tax returns in portfolio by the relevant filing deadline.
• To have no client complaints in respect of tax service or incorrect Tax Advice

The role is available or either a full or part-time basis, with flexible hours/days to suit the right candidate.

Salary: £14,000
