FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
A highly successful division of one of the world's leading technology groups, this organisation is recognised as a major player in the development of a specialist range of high-specification, award winning products and systems to customers across the globe.
Currently experiencing significant levels of investment and growth – they seek to augment the senior management team through the appointment of a commercially proven finance professional.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will assume full management responsibility, including coaching and mentoring of a close-knit team of 10 + finance professionals.
Responsibility for maintaining sound control of the function and framework across several reporting entities – ensuring preparation in a timely fashion and in accordance with Group requirements, under both International Accounting Standards and UK / US GAAP.
Management of the internal reporting processes in accordance with the monthly and quarterly reporting timetable, including the provision of commentary on balance sheet variances and clear communication of accounting issues to stakeholders.
Supporting and promoting the monthly balance sheet account reconciliation process and routine, including the implementation of a focused approach to timely issue resolution.
Liaison with UK Tax authorities for all Taxation (HMRC) issues as well as Corporation Tax reporting.
Effective, proactive liaison with other departments as necessary e.g. Sales & Marketing, Service, Sales Ordering and Warehousing.
Management of the external accounting relationship and fee levels; working to eliminate any inefficiency in the process to significantly reduce such costs to the business.
Ensuring full compliance of all business processes and documentation with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Support all Senior Departmental Managers in any matters with significant financial or operational implications, and to provide commercial and strategic guidance.
The Person
Successful candidates will be Qualified with a minimum of three years post qualification experience, preferably gained in a large organisation with international scope.
Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of excellent team management and leadership.
Ability to drive change and achieve continuous process improvement in partnership with all areas of the team and the wider business.
Proven planning / organisational and communication skills.
Working knowledge of Oracle or relevant software / financial systems.
