Financial Controller

Fantastic career-enhancing opportunity for a commercial and operational Financial Controller in a successful engineering business undergoing a period of radical change.

Reporting into the Finance Director and supported by two management accountants, the Financial controller takes full reporting and commercial responsibility for four key sites, with a combined turnover of close to £35million.

You will be expected to play a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of a new finance and reporting strategy, and be effective in translating the figures and analysis produced into improvements in performance and efficiency.

Specifically the role involves:

Operational Finance - product and process costing and working with business unit heads to control and improve costs and overheads
Financial Controls - ensuring adequate controls are in place both internally and externally to safeguard the business
Financial Reporting - both at site and group level with the ability to support, challenge and present at all levels
Working Capital Management

This is a role for a qualified, hands-on accountant with the ability to effect real change based on information gained from detailed and commercial analytical work. This individual must be prepared to be mobile around the sites, ensure regular contact with cost centres to ensure that improvements can be made and best practice is instilled. Must look to take genuine responsibility for the reporting unit - to have the confidence and commercial awareness to challenge the figures being submitted both up and down the reporting hierarchy and ensure success.
