Accountant / Senior Finance Manager - £32,200 - £48,300 pa depending on experience

Based: Norwich, Norfolk

The Accountant / Senior Finance Manager will manage the Finance Section of a local District Council and provide professional financial advice to elected Members and officers of the Council. The Accountant / Senior Finance Manager will also be the nominated Deputy Section 151 Officer for the council.

Our client is a progressive and dynamic District Council responsible for an interesting area comprising suburban and rural areas including several market towns.

The successful Accountant / Senior Finance Manager will be a qualified Accountant, ideally with three years post qualification experience. Experience is necessary in local government. The Accountant / Senior Finance Manager will be good with detail but also able to see the "bigger picture" and lead and motivate a team to achieve their goals.

You will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation and regulatory framework within finance services. You will have the ability to devise and implement creative and imaginative approaches and identify new options for service development. The role of Accountant / Senior Finance Manager demands the ability to assess risk, take decisions within defined parameters, maximise resources, manage budgets, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
