Accounts Assistant

Our Client, a luxury brands company, are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their fantastic team in Brighton.

The role

The role will involve maintaining an accurate purchase ledger by processing ledger adjustments on a daily basis and to have a working knowledge of a variety of jobs within the Accounts Department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Dealing with suppliers invoices including opening new accounts, registering and processing of the same
Posting invoices to the ledgers once authorised by the relevant managers
Communicating with managers to ensure all invoices are returned on a timely basis
Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements, dealing with any queries
Monthly payment of purchase invoices including dispatch of the remittance advices
Dealing with cheque requests on a daily basis and ensuring that the correct paperwork is attached for verification
To post on to the ledgers all bank direct debits, credits and standing orders on a daily basis
Oversee filing invoices so as to ensure accurate retrieval as necessary
To ensure there are no payments on account or unreconciled differences on either the purchase ledgers by close of the ledgers in any month
To research and assist with purchasing of utilities, telephone, stationary contracts and put proposals to Finance Director for approval.
Assist with nominal ledger reconciliations at month end.
To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues functioning as a team player
Any other duties as required. Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an accounts role and qualified in ACCA (or studying toward this). Experience in the accounts system Kerridge is desirable, however not essential.
