Description		Position Designer - Gas Seals EAA Turbomachinery Solutions The company As a key part of the Specialty Engineering Division which employs over 6,000 people world wide and has sales of �400 million. The position Reporting to the Design Office manager, the designer will join a small drawing office team. In addition the designer will work closely with the sales & production side of Gas Seals. This involves preparing general arrangements, detail manufacturing drawings, engineering calculations, plus any proposal sketches required The responsibilities The candidate should be self motivated, technically astute and capable of quickly learning new drafting and engineering skills. Because of the highly technical nature of the business there are significant opportunities for career progression. In this position you may also be asked to deputise for the Design Office manager, during the holiday period. The designer will be responsible for interpreting customer drawings and specifications to ensure that the seal supplied will be fit for purpose. Drawing installations of seals into customer machinery in an economic and practical manner, with particular attention given to its safety and maintainability. This task requires engineering judgment and a flair for innovation. Interpretation of new application work or product development ideas and concepts into a fully dimensioned design suitable for direct manufacture and assembly. The Candidate The successful candidate should have an HNC or equivalent as a minimum. Ideally the candidate should also possess a working knowledge of rotating equipment. Experience with drafting packages (preferably Solid Edge & Helix) would also be an advantage. The Package. Starting salary circa �28k
