ORIGINATIONS OPERATOR


JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to carry out job functions within the Originations Department. The position requires the processing of customer supplied design or artwork through to finished print component files made to the required quality standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To take customer supplied design or artwork briefs and process to production ready files for plate production or outside suppliers.
• To act in a supportive role for any stages of the preparation of design or artwork to production ready files.
• To provide training to staff members, as required by the Originations Department training requirements.
• To complete all relevant documentation in accordance with ISO9001, PS9000, ISO14001, BRC and related procedures implemented at the site.
• To complete all tasks Chesapeake Labels Bourne quality standards and maintain manufacturing quality standards and continuously improve quality performance within the Originations Department.
• To ensure the work areas within the Origination Department remain tidy and to ensure all Health and Safety rules and requirements are maintained.
• To liaise with site personnel, as required.
• To arrange service call outs, as required.
• To maintain confidentiality at all times.
• To carry out cleaning and maintenance requirements as directed by the Origination Controller or authorized deputy.
• To apply and check compliance to Digital Artwork and Reprographic Specification.


QUALIFICATONS:

Educational and professional:
• English Grade C GCSE or equivalent
• Maths Grade B GCSE or equivalent
• Business Information Technology (BIT) GCSE Grade C or equivalent
• Art & Design Grade B GCSE or equivalent


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

• Understands the principles of ISO9001, PS9000, ISO14001, BRC and related procedures implemented at the site.
• Understand the principles of colour reproduction.
• Able to operate design/production computer software in a print-manufacturing environment.
• Minimum one years experience in a Digital Artwork and Reprographic environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate skills in the evaluation of design/artwork instructions.
