PACKAGING TECHNOLOGIST / PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Salary - £30-40k basic
2 roles available - 1 x Permanent role & 1 x 12 month contract (to go permanent)
Location - West London / Berkshire

Overviews;
These roles involve identifying, developing and implementing packaging opportunities to add value and deliver effective and innovative packaging meeting Packaging Strategy and client targets. Tasked with supporting environmental commitments, ensuring conformance with policies and procedures.

Backgrounds required;
All applicants must be experienced Packaging Professionals and come from a Packaging Technology or Packaging Development background. Will consider any industries although Food, FMCG, Retail are of particular interest.

MUST understand Packaging constraints and materials. (General Print is NOT suitable)

MUST be creative, innovative, challenge current industry norms and be extremely confident in presenting to a group of decision makers.

Main responsibilities:
*Develop and maintain technical specifications for all packaging, ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance and ensure processes relating to confidentiality, indemnity and new idea documentation are followed
*Develop an understanding of relevant packaging issues and legislation, for use in the development process
*Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure smooth transition from ideas development to commercial agreement and production to meet launch deadlines
*Ensure physical packaging design is fit for purpose and complies with environmental and regulatory standards
*Identify commercial and cost saving opportunities related to packaging optimisation and specifications
*Work with suppliers, creative agencies and other contacts for ideas to develop a range of creative options for packaging; ranging from operational to inspirational and to challenge current thinking about packaging
*Responsible for recommending creative solutions with an appropriate balance of innovation, risk management, assured supply, speed and cost
*Work closely with Development team, Product Development, Technologist and Suppliers at the early stages of development to ensure an in depth understanding of quality issues
*Create structured briefs, with clear objectives and measures that can be recorded and maintained for internal and external reporting
