Description Manufacturing Technician

Manufacturing Technicians perform a range of inspection and test activities as well as supervision of operators and apprentices.

The role includes:
• General inspection measurement with hand tools;
• Use of a range of ancillary inspection and test equipment e.g. shadowgraph, tensile test, hardness test, conductivity test and surface finish measurement;
• Calibration of hand tools, gauges, torque wrenches, etc utilising the related computer based control and recording systems;
• Penetrant and anodic flaw detection;
• First Article Inspection processing;
• Supervision via a Team Leader role, helping to ensure the team are working efficiently and in conformance with our H & S and Quality procedures;
• Internal auditing for Health & Safety and Lean Processing;


Although applicants may not have experience of the full range of activities performed within the role, it is expected that they would be able to undertake the necessary training to achieve the required levels of flexibility.
