Description In accordance with our Continuous Improvement Policy, the Quality Department is seeking an Aircraft Safety Management System Manager.

This incumbent will report directly to the Quality Manager and have the following key responsibilities:

a) Co-ordinating the establishment, implementation and maintenance of Safety Management across the Company.
b) Acting as the Safety Management Focal.
c) Identifying Safety Management related audit requirements to ensure Company compliance with both regulation and Safety Management principles.
d) Ensuring investigations are carried out and reported on safety related issues.
e) Liaising with regulators, customers, and subcontractors on Aircraft Safety Management related matters.
f) Establishing and maintaining a company wide aircraft safety promotion programme.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• GCSE A level (or equivalent).
• Aircraft engineering apprenticeship.
• Recognised Safety Management System Course relating to Aerospace.
• Recognised auditors course.
• Preferably hold an Aircraft Maintenance License.
• Good Working Knowledge of Safety Management, ISO9001:2000/AS9100, EASA Parts 21J, 21G and 145.
• Good verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Highly PC literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office suite.

EXPERIENCE

Ideally, the applicant will have attained the following level of experience:

In depth experience within an aerospace maintenance, design or manufacturing environment.

Considerable experience within Safety Management and/or Quality Assurance in an aerospace environment.
