This large company is recruiting for an experienced workshop manager to run this busy heavy commercial vehicles workshop. You will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled technicians on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all work is carried out to the required standard. Your responsibilities will include resourcing the workload of the workshop and scheduling maintenance of vehicles in accordance with agreed timescales. You will be responsible for Health and Safety within the workshop, and also for carrying out regular QC checks on maintenance, and repair work carried out to ensure it is of the correct high standard. You will also play a key part in the development of your people, working with them to assess their training and ongoing needs.
This is an ongoing temporary contract, which has a strong possibility of leading to a permanent position for the right candidate.

You must come from a Vehicle Technician background, having worked on heavy commercial vehicles, and must have one of the following qualifications or equivalent: City and Guilds level 2 or above or NVQ level 3 in the service and repair of motor vehicles.
You should also have strong, proven prior experience of all skilled technician duties such as: fault finding and diagnosis, general maintenance and servicing, and this should be from within a company where there was a strong focus on Class one articulated units and trailers – as this makes up the majority of the workload in this workshop.
