Senior Cost Estimator - Aerospace Structures & Systems - Bristol to £42,000 plus benefits.

Major tasks & Responsibilities:

-Provide accurate cost estimates and cost expertise mandatory for decisions, with quality and speed, to all company functions and in support of all required business processes.

-Demonstrate neutrality and confidence in costing results with all customers, build reliable and coherent cost estimation with a minimum set of technical/industrial information, able to complete missing inputs with own sound assumptions.

-Build a prime understanding of engineering, industrial and manufacturing processes across the supply chain in order to develop recognised expertise in cost estimation via transnational Domain of Costing expertise (DoCE).

-The job holder is the privileged interface with the UK based Systems Procurement team providing accurate cost estimates based on first principles driving:

oChallenging and realistic target setting
oRobust positioning in anticipation of supplier negotiation
oStrategic challenge with supply chain (business modelling, OE versus aftermarket assessments, leverage opportunities, etc)

-Actively support Procurement via the transnational MFT (Multi Functional Team)organisation for all required sourcing and contract management activities

Interfaces:

-The jobholder reports to the Head of Costing Manufacture & Systems UK

-Interfaces external to Finance Costing Team:

•Programme Teams
•Procurement Commodity Leader, MFT Leaders
•Engineering Centre of Competency
•Finance (Controlling, Reporting, Accounting)

Accountabilities:

-Accountable for integrity and consistency of all cost estimates, including transnational consolidation.

-Full decision making authority for all cost estimates delivered in support of Business Processes

-Ensure prime Costing management interface to UK local Programmes and Operations Management incl Procurement MFT organisation

-Contribute to the development of transnational costing intelligence & tools for the DoCE

-Guarantees the quality, reliability and neutrality of the costing procedure and results providing:

 Robust cost references for all major business decisions across all aircraft programme phases
 Powerful cost benchmarks influencing all procurement operations

-Ensures the permanent development and improvement of methods, skills and expertise aligned to the organisation.
