Composite Stress Engineer - Aerospace - Bristol
Our client requires a number of degree qualified Stress Engineers with Composite experience to work on various projects including Airbus A350 XWB, A400M, Serial programmes and Repairs group.
The successful applicant will ensure Structural integrity of a (major) sub assembly of a product:
• The job involves the analysis of composite and metallic aircraft structure using the standard static stressing methods to develop design solutions.
• The work will involve liaison with Fatigue & Damage Tolerance, Design and appropriate Airbus departments to come up with optimum design solution.
• The engineer will carry out static stressing calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand and computer methods.
• The engineer will be expected to liaise with the Methods and Data group in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments.
• The Engineer will also be expected to support on-going local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods and process improvements.
A minimum of 3 years working as a Stress engineer, preferably in the aircraft industry, involved in static analysis of composite and metallic a structure using a broad range of standard hand and computer method is
desired.
• Also an understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for static stressing and an ability to develop these methods would be expected.
Engineers would also be expected to have an ability to assess structural analysis problems.
• Some knowledge of the application of FE analysis and an understanding of aircraft production methods and processes would be beneficial.
• Broad range of standard hand and computer stress analysis tools.
• A team player with a high regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle is expected.
• An understanding of fatigue and damage tolerance
Good communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
. Experience of PC and mainframe computer systems would be expected.

A relevant degree in Engineering / Aerospace is required.
