Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting Department Managers in all risks associated with Chemical Processes (inc COSHH)
To provide applicable chemistry support to ensure the safe operation of all processing using substances that could affect health.
A comprehensive understanding of Chemicals/Substances and within the manufacture of the range of products.
To identify evaluate and where agreed implement new processes and process development opportunities.
To ensure legislative requirements relating to handling, control and use of chemicals/materials are understood and implemented as agreed by the Management of the Company.
To support the Quality and Compliance Manager in all legislative requirements relating to the range of products.
To support the maintenance of systems such that they are effective, up to date and the Company remains compliant to all current and forthcoming standards and regulations.
The collation of movements of Fissile material (EURATOM)
Co-ordinating the shipping of hazardous goods
An understanding on pressure legislation (PED)
An understanding of Radioactive waste and the subsequent disposal process
auditing against EA Licences, Risk Assessment).
Control of external Radiation consultants (RPA)
Supporting manufacturing in Radiation type activities (Chemical solutions, Coating, Calibration)
