Delcam/Edgecam Programmer / Production Estimator/Developer

Our client is a specialist CNC and volume production machining company with an installed base of around 50 machines that has invested heavily in the latest machining technology to service the fluid power, medical, specialist automotive, marine and motorsport sectors. They are able to provide components to high orders of consistent quality within Kanban and just-in-time customer requirements as well as vendor managed contracts with the benefits of highly competitive cost per part pricing.

You will work closely with sales, production, manufacturing Engineers and senior management to secure new orders, then 3D model the components and oversee full production. The sales Engineers will need your technical knowhow in costing for tooling, materials, labour and any potential production issues. Upon the company winning the order you will perform the full offline modelling using Delcam. Finally you will ensure the batch run goes smoothly and the finished component is exactly what the customer required via the inspection and quality department.

• Full component modelling using Delcam
• Oversee project through to completion
• Production setup data sheets
• Production planning quotations and estimations
• Negotiating with senior colleagues and managing their expectations
• Offering costing and manufacturing support to the sales engineers to aid in win new contracts
• Proactive prototype development fulfilling customers’ requirements
• Interacting with Mechanical Engineering CAD development department
• Extensive knowledge and use of all lathes and milling machines

- Must have Sliding head machines experience

In return we have a negotiable salary range for the right individual up to and around the £35k mark.
