As a leading aerospace supplier to both military and civil aircraft manufacturers, my client is used to the high demands of their customers. Part of a wider global aerospace engineering group, their success is due in no small part to the excellent design, manufacture and reliability of the products to aerospace customers, with challenging (but achieved) targets. To ensure the continued improvement of these standards my client now seeks an experienced Systems or Software Engineering Manager to fill this newly created post.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a growing team of 20+ Systems Professionals responsible for embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership and people management experience within the IS / IT development area with a technical engineering bias. Reporting directly to the Head of Shared Services you will be responsible for ensuring your team provides technical expertise in the design, development, testing and verification of software used in aircraft for braking and taking off / landing. The software design tasks are diverse, the team is multi-discipline and the projects are constantly evolving, this is definitely an opportunity that will challenge your ability!

The ideal candidate will have a software development background gained within a precision engineering background, ideally Aerospace. You will be experienced with direct line management and/or programme/project leadership, have software team management/organisation experience and a strong technical aptitude. Requirements include:

Must be proficient in the use of LDRA Testbed (both Assembler and C/C++)
Must be experienced in unit testing
Must have experience of HP Assembler and Intel Assembler
University degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
Must have Real Time Systems development experience.
