Position Description:
BIW Layout & Facilities Engineer with experience of EMS Power Trolley systems. The role will be responsible for the development and implementation of feasible cost effective manufacturing Layouts and Facility / Material Handling installations for a new body installations currently taking place at client Plants.
Keys responsibilities will be as follows:
Manage the design, development and implementation of Body Shop and Material Storage Layouts.
Preparation of Costs, Budgets and Timing Plans.
Co-ordinate the support of Plant Engineering functions with respect to the provision of, Lighting, Mech/Elec Services, Heating & Ventilation, Extraction, Amenities and Civil Works.
Provide Layout and Facility support for all Halewood BIW model operations.
Management of Health & Safety including CDM control and implementation.
Ownership of LLDM tools & implementation.
Manage Facility Buy offs and hand over to customer department.
Manage the design, procurement and installation of miscellaneous non process aligned equipment and facilities.
Interface between process engineering / OEMs and PD.
Education Required:
A relevant engineering degree is not essential but would be an advantage, as would time served in related engineering disciplines apprenticeship
Education Preferred:
NEEBOSH certificate is not essential but would be an advantage
Experience Required:
Knowledge and Experience an ideal candidate will have are substantive experience in a Facilities and Layout role, with :-
Proven layout and project management experience in Body Construction installation programs.
A sound engineering and manufacturing background.
A working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations.
An understanding of Material Handling systems.
Knowledge of Group Product Development System (GPDS).

Skills Preferred: Additional Personal Characteristics
Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment.
Flexible in both working location and in time.
Have a safe working mind set with the ability to: (i) be able to review Vendor Method Statements & Risk Assessments.
(ii) (ii) be able to carryout Risk Assessments and generate Method Statements for in house works.
Additional Info: Must be willing to travel between Client sites
Hours:
The BIW Layout & Facilities role is based on a standard 40hr week, includes overtime and weekend work.
