RESTAURANT MANAGER / GENERAL MANAGER - £25-32k & UP TO 30% BONUS & EXCELLENT CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES.
My client is the UK's leading casual dining group serving over 35 million meals a year operating from over 500 restaurants nationwide.
The core portfolio of restaurants is situated in prime positions across a wide variety of location types including high streets, retail/leisure parks, business districts and local neighbourhoods.
Summary of Role
•To lead, motivate and coach the restaurant team to be the best Italian food experience outside of Italy.
•To deliver the key business objectives.
•To build people capability and operational standards to sustain business success and maximise financial performance.
•Responsible for the Restaurant team.
•Responsible for the turnover, revenue and profit of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
Financial:
•Delivery of Restaurant KPI's: Sales, Costs, and Profit
•Careful control of all costs – labour, food, variables etc.
•Monitoring P&L in order to make business decisions to increase restaurant profitability.
•Achieving budgeted levels of sales and profit.
•Ensuring all financial processes and reporting requirements are managed to company standard.
•Maximise profitability through sales and promotional activities.
•Business planning and building.
Standards:
•Drive excellent standards by the restaurant team.
•Monitor and improve standards in the restaurant by using Health & Safety Audits, Financial Audits, Food Quality Audits and Mystery Diner.
•Responsible for all aspects of health, safety and welfare within the restaurant.
•Flawless implementation of all local and company activity.
•Monitor local developments in the market place and develop plans as appropriate.
People:
•Ensure the Company Vision is shared with the restaurant team.
•Effective communication, coaching and support of the restaurant Team, ensuring that team members are motivated, listened to, supported and set up for success.
•Set and agree objectives, which support the needs of the business and individual capability, with all restaurant team members and management.
•Monitor and measure Assistant Restaurant Manager(s) against agreed performance & capability standards.
•Undertake regular and robust appraisals as per company requirements.
•Responsible for recruitment and development of team members at every level, using the agreed assessment process. i.e Assistant Manager, Head Chef, Waiters etc.
•Build an effective and productive team capable of delivering key business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
•2 years+ experience of running a comparable high street operation.
•Passionate about customers and food.
•Have a depth of understanding of the restaurants Industry and our market sector.
•A good level of business and commercial understanding.
•Ability to demonstrate a high drive for results.
•Planning and organisational skills.
•Ability to recruit, coach and develop a team of managers and staff.
•Basic Food Safety and Health and Safety Certification.
•Personal License Holder – NCPLH.
