Description

For a key Ministry of Defence project in Kuwait, they are in need of a Catering Contract Manager to mange this prestigious contract.

Reporting into the Country Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of operational activities through a strategic enhancement of our clients profile in this prestigious Ministry contract in Kuwait. The key objectives of the role are to act as the client-contractor interface and develop relationships with clients and interact with the operational team to develop and execute a first class winning business service standard.
Key results areas will be: Sales / Gross Margin following the budget, building up a second to none service standards measured by guest satisfaction, HSE KPI's, guaranteeing achievement of the Gross Profit and Client Account Receivables.
Specifically you will provide support to existing and new sites in terms of conceptual development, promotions, merchandising and marketing.
You will execute / follow appropriate recording / reporting procedures related to operational activities.
You will establish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship resulting in highest levels of client and customer satisfaction and account retention, and future business growth plans.
You will liaise with the Client, Contractor Operations, Finance, Marketing and Human Resources functions throughout contract operation process.
You will understand the relevant political, security and legislative issues to establish / facilitate day-to-day business activity / renewal of contract.
You will manage and lead change to ensure maximum profitability of core activities.
You will manage the contract SLA to strict financial objectives, quality and standards and will take ownership for the contract performance and suggest improvements which will result in increased income and/or reduced costs. You will calculate and compare costs for required goods or services on monthly basis.
You will check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
You will liaise, report and maintain standards on the specialist segments such as client/customer satisfaction, maintenance, catering and cleaning.
You will direct and plan essential central services such as food preparation, supply chain, maintenance, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling, internal reporting to a Line Manager and will investigate availability and suitability of options for new purchases.
You will use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.
Finally you will co-ordinate all aspects of Health and Safety and Fire Safety in your area of responsibility.




Knowledge and Skills:

You should be an energetic and accomplished English speaking multi - site Catering Manager and have substantial multi-site catering management experience coupled with strong contract management / negotiation skills with client interaction.

You should be highly self motivated with the ability to communicate and motivate a varied multi- cultural team.

Experience of working in a multi - site role in contracted catering services, in a military environment or for a leading international facilities management provider would be ideal, as would experience of working in post conflict areas, remote sites or in other arduous environments.

You will have an excellent understanding of commercial catering operations including purchasing through to administration and specifically a high degree of knowledge on food hygiene including HACCP, food handling and food presentation concepts and knowledge of popular catering and bakery products.

Your practical experience should ideally be supported by a Diploma/Degree in catering / foodservice / hospitality management or equivalent from a recognized post secondary educational institution.

You will possess excellent knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation, strong and confident leadership skills and strong negotiation skills.

You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally Arabic and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Catering Manager looking for something different.

The basic salary whilst shown in US Dollars will be paid in local Kuwaiti Dinars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus payable which will be paid in Dinars and also tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, medical / health insurance, life insurance, meals are all provided free. In addition you will have a fully expensed company car, laptop and mobile phone.


Ex-Patriate employees will receive R and R leave (tbd) with free paid return economy flights. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
