Mental Health Service User Involvement Coordinator – 6 month Maternity Cover

Part time – 24 hours per week
£28,000 per annum pro rata, £19,749 per annum actual
Location: North West London

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused individual to cover maternity leave for this highly successful project which supports mental health users to participate fully in local service planning.

You will bring significant experience and knowledge of working in the mental health field, an excellent appreciation of the bigger picture and an understanding of and commitment to user empowerment at a strategic level.

We would be keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

- Experience working with service users in a mental health setting
- Group facilitation experience
- Advocacy skills
- Knowledge of equalities for mental health service users in a multicultural environment
- Knowledge of and experience applying models and principles of user empowerment
- Knowledge of issues in local statutory mental health provision and commissioning
- Experience training or mentoring service users to develop a range of skills to help them to represent their peers and empowering them to work strategically
- Project management experience
- Conflict management skills
- Experience of networking and liaising with external stakeholders
