Description

DISC’s Drug Services - provide a range of community based services for substance misusers. Our Drugs Intervention Programmes provide some of the UK’s highest performing throughcare and aftercare services which support drug users who are involved in the criminal justice system to access, maintain and complete appropriate treatment programmes.
Providing key worker support in a number of settings you will deliver a range of interventions, including range of support to adults and families utilising therapeutic interventions, outreach methods, conducting home visits, prison in reach and working in communities.
Your commitment to supporting people to make positive changes to their lives will be critical within this role as you:
• Adopt a whole family approach that involves and supports families and carers in the recovery journey.
• To develop programmes of intensive interventions to address service users specific needs including parenting skills, understanding the impact of substance misuse on children, mental health, address offending behaviour, debt advice, independent living skills, housing and reinforce responsibilities and encourage peer support.
• To support families to access work like activities including information, advice and guidance, training, qualifications, taster sessions, work experience/trials and volunteering.
• Develop the capacity of communities to promote awareness and reduce stigma.
• Support ex users to provide peer support and deliver aspects of parenting programmes
• Develop and deliver family group conferencing
• This role requires some flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the programme.
