Description This is an excellent chance to join one of the UK’s leading Defence businesses operating at the forefront of global technology at one of their Design and Manufacturing facilities in the Kent area.

The Defence Avionics business area at Rochester is a leading supplier of avionic displays, mission computers, digital maps, flight controls and associated subsystems, used on a wide range of platforms.

Ownership of the overall Engineering solution consistent with the Engineering Plan .
Delivery of the engineering solution to specification, schedule & cost.


This role will include: -
Ensure technical solution meets requirements of the program
Engineering Planning
Engineering Budgets
Engineering Schedules
Engineering Risks & Opportunities
Risk Mitigation Plans
Status Meetings & Action Items
Engineering Project Metrics
DTC & Cost Reduction
Implementation of established Company practices
Process Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Monitor and interpret customer requirements and represent customer technical needs
interface to the customer for the technical approach, solution and issues
Coordination for Follow-on New Business for Engineering
Manage Technical Trade Studies
Technical Baseline/Scope Management
Engineering asset management
Coordination of Engineering Change Proposals for Engineering
Ensure that the project achieves the required Product Maturity
Responsibility for the management of performance of individual team members

Experience & Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be Degree (or equivalent) educated in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. With excellent experience in the above areas.
