Description Job Title: CONFIGURATION CONTROL DATA MANAGER;

Agency: Questus.

Description: Overall Purpose/Objectives of Role.

Define and manage the configuration data across the whole systems development lifecycle in accordance with both internal and customer requirements.

Key duties:

1. Define strategy for maintaining a comprehensive configuration system for all works products on major engineering development programs.

2. Control and manage repeatable build configurations for product releases.

3. Control Customer, internal, and regulatory documents, and how they are used / accessed throughout the business.

4. Identify current industry CM best practices and standards to develop a robust CM working process.

5. Maintain family trees, ECP's, Deviations and wavers, and BOM's.

6. Maintain and document CM process on ongoing basis through feedback, metrics and audits.

7. Define standard CM tools in conjunction with engineering development groups.

8. Manage the engineering configuration management tools, and co-ordinate FCA, and PCA audits in line with the company and customer requirements.

9. Provide direction in relation to documentation control.

10. Assist the engineering manager in the formulation of CM strategy and continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives.

• Expertise in configuration control.

• Expertise in configuring files in a product development environment.

• Knowledge of current industry standard configuration management tools and process.

• Experience of the configuration of the complete design lifecycle form interpretation of the requirements through design analysis, development, verification, to production.

• Able to demonstrate an understanding of priorities management.

• Experience in compiling and maintaining bills of Materials, ECP's etc.

• Experience of Microsoft office tools.

Customer Focus;

• Focused on internal and external customer needs and experienced at keeping customers informed of progress.

• Experience of responding to and managing customer needs Time Management and Planning.

• Focused on target completion.

• Can work on a number of projects at the same time.

• Must be able to work closely with projects to understand their needs.

• Detailed knowledge of CM tools, methods and standards.

• CM experience within Aerospace, Automotive or other industry.

Understanding of economic background.

• Meeting CM requirements in the most effective manner.

• Ability to propose and discuss alternative approaches to CM to meet best business needs.

Communication;

• Experience with working with customers, suppliers and other engineering disciplines and departments.

• Must have logical and good analytical problem solving ability to deal with configuration issues.

• Ability to present technical data to management in a clear and concise manner.

• Ability to track changes in customer or departmental requirements within the engineering development.

• Ability to hold FCA and PCA Audits.

• Ability to produce formal reports.

Qualifications and Experience;

• HNC or Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.

• 2 years Experience in working years experience in an engineering environment.

• Experience of Excel (.odc) etc.

Other;

• Prepared to undertake travel to within the UK and on occasions to Europe and the USA. (Not normally more that four times a year).

• Prepared to work overtime.

Location: FAREHAM, Hampshire.
