Description		Our client is an international advisory and design consultancy with particular specialisation in infrastructure, property and environmental solutions, employing over 4,000 people worldwide. Their Water Environment team is responsible for the delivery of wide-ranging projects across the UK and overseas in the areas of coastal, estuarine and riverine management. They are currently looking for a technical lead on a range of coastal and inland modelling projects from the Cardiff Office. We are looking for a Senior Coastal Modeller responsible for the delivery of hydrodynamic, wave modelling, sediment transport and water quality studies requiring varying levels of modelling. The role will include technical supervision and the development of a team of modellers. It may include some aspects of project management, including financial management, programming and client liaison. They are looking for someone with a minimum 6 years relevant academic or consultancy experience of hydrodynamic and water quality modelling in 2-D/3-D, wave modelling, sediment transport modelling, ideally familiar with Mike 21 and/or Delft 3D. You will be required to work well within a team environment, to develop solutions to technically challenging problems and have an ability to motivate and teach. You must have a first degree in an appropriate subject (eg Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Oceanography). Post graduate qualifications (PhD or MSc), &/or Professional Membership (e.g. MICE or MCIWEM), are preferred. You must also have minimum 6 years relevant sewerage experience. Hands on experience of coastal computer modelling in connection with hydrodynamics, waves, sediment transport and water quality. Must have hands on experience of Mike21/Mike3, Delft3D and/or Telemac. Reporting results is an essential part of this work and a good level of competence in written English is required. Proactive and self motivated with good oral and written communication skills. Good team player. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate
