Description		My client provides specialised development advice encompassing the range of traffic, highway and road safety engineering and traffic management, along with other land use development related issues such as transport policies arising from the requirements of the local Development Plan and Central Government sustainable transport policies set out in Planning Policy Guidance and Planning Policy Statements. A thorough working knowledge of relevant design guides such as the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets local highway authority issues and the concerns of Officers and Members of the local authority to be addressed in a sustainable manner with the scope of any highway requirements arising from development being justifiable and reasonably related to the proposals under consideration. The candidate should have in the region of 5 years professional experience within the development planning industry on behalf of private sector development clients including a working knowledge of the planning and Development Plan process, preparation of Transport Assessments and negotiations with officers of local authorities. The candidate should have a good understanding of current highway and traffic engineering techniques including knowledge of Word, Excel and the following software packages: TRICS, ARCADY, PICADY, OSCADY, TRANSYT and LINSIG. The candidate must be capable of managing their own project workload and confident in liasing with clients and other members of the professional team.
