Description		My client provides specialised development advice encompassing the range of traffic, highway and road safety engineering and traffic management, along with other land use development related issues such as transport policies arising from the requirements of the local Development Plan and Central Government sustainable transport policies set out in Planning Policy Guidance and Planning Policy Statements. A thorough working knowledge of relevant design guides such as the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets local highway authority issues and the concerns of Officers and Members of the local authority to be addressed in a sustainable manner with the scope of any highway requirements arising from development being justifiable and reasonably related to the proposals under consideration. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years post qualification experience in highway design. A working knowledge of AutoCAD, WinDes and MX Roads is essential. You will be responsible for developing and producing designs, and be able to follow the scheme through the planning application process, Section 278/38 detailed design, tendering and site supervision. You will be working as part of a small team and duties will involve attending meetings and visiting sites around the UK and so car ownership is required. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work on a number of schemes at any one time and be able to manage your time in an efficient manner.
