Description An outstanding opportunity for a pragmatic and innovative Production/ Manufacturing systems/ Industrial/ Transfer to Production engineer to join our high-performing New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team to lead the introduction of new, world leading, high technology products into production. This is a key role in a fast-paced, design and manufacturing engineering environment in our successful, global and rapidly growing high technology business.

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology offers flexible, configurable process tools and leading-edge processes for the precise, controllable and repeatable engineering of micro- and nano-structures. Oxford Instruments plc is a global company with manufacturing facilities, offices and service centres, worldwide and an annual turnover of £150m.

The Job
· Responsible for the transfer to production of new products.
· Advise the design teams on design for manufacturing requirements for new products and support the documentation of new products.
· Work with suppliers to manage their impact on process improvement, cost reduction, new product introduction and change management.
· Support design engineering in producing cost estimates for new designs and take lead in implementing product manufacturing cost reduction.
· Define manufacturing assembly and test processes for new products using industry best practice lean manufacturing techniques
· This role will initially involve some international travel.

The Person
· Degree/HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
· Substantial experience of the application of manufacturing principles, design for manufacture and new product introduction in a complex electro–mechanical systems environment.
· Recent experience of generating manufacturing documentation in support of detailed manufacture, assembly and test activities, e.g. engineering change, working knowledge of BOM structures, work instructions and test procedures.
· Experience in a fast paced operations environment.
