Description We have a fantastic role for a Purchasing Specialist to join a major organisation based in Bedfordshire.

What we are looking for is someone with either 2 Degrees and/or an MBA/Masters coupled with a technical background in a Lean environment. You will have experience of Lean business, continuous improvement, change management and proven ability to develop strong business processes. Ability to learn at a fast pace essential plus passion to progress within the Group.

You will be responsible for developing a world class supply chain management process to improve quality, delivery and cost metrics year over year. Responsibilities include:-

• Implement master supply agreements or equivalent process to reduce lead time, order quantity, cost and inventory.
• Extend kanban as the replenishment process and improve the system
• Use e-procurement to reduce transaction costs
• Use online auctions to stimulate competition and reduce costs
• Improve freight purchasing, both inbound and outbound, to improve control and reduce costs
• Use group preferred suppliers to reduce costs
• Improve negotiation and contract preparation and administration
• Create and execute policy deployment by identifying breakthroughs and managing action plans.
