Description		ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER - Bedfordshire Salary: �27 � 36,000pa Dep on exp + benefits (Full relocation package available if appropriate) PLEASE NOTE: CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION WILL NEED TO QUALIFY FOR FULL UK SECURITY CLEARANCE AND SHOULD THEREFORE BE OF BRITISH NATIONALITY AND CURRENTLY RESIDE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM Our client is a leading UK defence contractor supplying integrated system solutions to the UK and allied armed forces directly or through global prime contractors. The Company's experience and capabilities range from Future Concepts, Communications Systems Integration, Combat Systems Integration and support systems on or close to the battlefield. This is supported by a Manufacturing capability specialising in mechanical and composite components and system assembly. Brief Job Description: An experienced graduate or postgraduate engineer is required to undertake assessment of environmental analysis of aerospace and vehicle structures within the Structural Dynamics Group. The work of the group includes: � Generation of Environmental Definition Documents, Environmental Assessment Strategies as well as Test and Assessment programmes � Assessment of Environmental Test and associated activities for Design Assessment purposes � Analysis and assessment of vibration, shock, acoustic and climatic data � Generation of design and test severities � Fatigue analysis using derived loading spectra � Supply of advice and guidance on Environmental Engineering issues Essential Experience A suitable candidate would be expected to: � Take a lead role in environmental trials � Produce estimates including internal, sub-contract costs etc for complete work packages � Have a good understanding of the factors influencing design verification against environmental aspects � Able, with some supervision, to produce an assessment plan and conduct a trials programme � Advise others on environmental issues associated with particular area of detailed knowledge � Possess extensive experience of relevant commercial and military specifications � Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding to carry out the following tasks at system level; vibration response measurements, vibration test plans, vibration test set-up, analysis of results and produce assessment reports � Firm understanding of Uncertainty of Measurement Calculations � Supply internal advice on vibration and shock � Understand the compliance issues in applying relevant standards including making judgements on extent of compliance � Apply any quality aspects that would influence system verification � Use modelling tools to verify the effects on the human users of the environment If you wish to be considered for this position please send your CV to Delaney Ditchfield Engineering & Technical Recruitment.
